Foggy Spring
Bikash Sarkar
I couldn't hear Kochi's voice on telephone due to the cross connection
For now I sit on the bank of Mechhua and watch the lyric-ornate birds play
The sky is apologizing for the interruption
I lie beneath that sky, silent, and the grasses become radioactive
Calamus leaves fly, flakes of vagrant shimul also fly
And here comes Kochi's letter: 'we will meet then
At Shantiniketan in Basanta Utsav’
Then what happens, what can happen, how it happens
Giving her glasses in my hand, Kochi goes down to Kopai
She washes her eyes with water and fixes her glance on Sonajhuri
At that time, Madols were playing drimidrimi in Saturday's hat
Kochi has gone to the water, why isn't she coming back!
What will I do now with these foggy lenses for all the springtime?
